For some reason my nails were really gross and peely and just not growing, so instead of making the time to go get a mani, I did it myself (BRAVO, loser!). My friend Raissa turned me on to “half-n-halfs” a few years ago, when I went through a brief acrylic phase. On a longer nail, it looks like a slightly diagonal tip, which I usually got over a “natural” base (typically black or teal or something, and I made sure they didn’t square off the ends. That’s a little too dong-grabbing-porn-claw for my delicate sensibilities). Anyway, these remind me of regatta flags. I’m pretty into them. Also, Annie flat-ironed my hair today for the first time in weeks and I feel like I’m wearing a wig.
